Upper Colorado River Scenic Byway is a part of the Utah Scenic Byways program.  Just outside of Moab, SR-128 is frequently referred to as “the river road”, after the Colorado River.  The highway follows the Colorado River for 44.6 miles.

The highway was originally built to connect rural cities in eastern Utah with Grand Junction, CO.  which was the largest city in the region.  It is a beautiful and worthwhile drive with jaw dropping views around every turn.  A must when in the Moab area.
