Virginia stretches from the Chesapeake Bay to the Appalachian Mountains, with a long Atlantic coastline. It is a must see especially during the fall with plenty of overlooks and beautiful winding roads and hiking trails.
Shenandoah National Park
Shenandoah National Park is a land bursting with cascading waterfalls, spectacular vistas, fields of wildflowers, and quiet wooded hollows. With over 200,000 acres of protected lands that are haven to deer, songbirds, and black bear, there’s so much to explore… Check out Shenandoah National Park and Skyline Drive which is your roadway through the park. It’s full of adventure!
Virginia’s Blue Ridge Parkway
The Blue Ridge Parkway, also known as “America’s Favorite Drive,” follows the Appalachian Mountains and boasts some of the most spectacular scenery in the world.
A hundred species of trees, a variety of flowering shrubs and wildflowers as well 54 different mammals and 59 species of birds live along the Parkway – more than the entire European continent! You can also set foot on the Appalachian Trail where it intersects with the Blue Ridge Parkway in a few locations. So, take a drive on one of America’s favorites!
