West Virginia
The Mountain State is home to spirited small towns, undiscovered hidden gems and world-class outdoor adventures. Just let country roads lead you far away from everything and a little closer to heaven. West Virginia is historically significant for its coal mining and logging industries, and its political and labor history. Visit New River Gorge National Park and experience the beautiful New River, hiking paths, scenic overlooks, and the Gorge Bridge. The New River Gorge Bridge is currently the longest single-span steel arch bridge in the United States and the third highest bridge in the country. No pedestrian traffic is allowed, however. Check the park out by visiting the New River Gorge National Park and Preserve website.
