Moreno Valley
The Moreno Valley is a beautiful valley located in the Sangre de Cristo Mountains of Northeastern New Mexico. In the early 1700’s, the Moreno Valley was called home to the nomadic Moache Ute and Jicarilla Apache Indian tribes that gathered here in the summer and the fall. According to legend, the Ute called the glow against the Agua Fria Peak the “fire of the gods”. When traveling Franciscan Friars came through the area, they transposed the name into “the place of the fire of angels.” Later, in the mid-1800’s, “Kit” Carson would soon coin the phrase “Angel Fire”. It is a gorgeous place to live and adventures abound! I am very lucky to call it home!
